LOCATION: Carnegie Building
Petoskey District Library, in partnership with the nonprofit organization Northern Michigan Against Hate (NOMIAH), will welcome Mark Totten, U.S Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, on Monday, June 10, at 7:00pm, for a presentation on “Identifying and Reporting Acts of Hate.” In 2023, Attorney Totten announced the district’s formation of a Civil Rights Team of federal prosecutors and the launch of “United Against Hate Initiative”, a nationwide effort by the U.S. Dept. of Justice to combat unlawful acts of hate. Mr. Totten will discuss how his office has made civil rights and hate crimes a high priority and has successfully prosecuted several cases. Join us at the upper level of the Carnegie Building, 451 E. Mitchell St., Petoskey, to learn more. Doors open at 6:30pm for this free program.
