Looking to join in on the popular game of Mah Jongg? EVERY TUESDAY from 1:00-3:00pm, we have the Lower Level Classroom set up for Mah Jongg games for players to drop in and join a game. This is open play without an instructor and those attending will be of various skill levels. Though most games follow guidelines of the National Mah Jongg League, the players agree on each tables' rules at the outset of play. (Beginners or new players welcome!)

Talk, sing, read, write, play! That’s what we’ll do today! Storytime models these five practices to support development of early literacy skills. Grown ups are encouraged to participate in the fun and learning. Storytime is for toddlers and preschoolers.

United Way of Northwest Michigan - CharEm Region Office, in partnership with the Petoskey District Library, will be hosting conversations with area nonprofits. On the first Thursday of every month, the audience will be introduced to a human services nonprofit helping our neighbors and find out how they can get involved in making our community better. There will be a time for Q&A at the end of the program. The January 4 program's featured nonprofit organization will be Miigwech Inc.

Course instructor Bob Moore brings decades of business experience to guide you in examining contemporary and innovative business practices, critical financial and risk management strategies, setting goals and tracking progress. Attendees will be introduced to the economic and consumer market conditions that create entrepreneurial opportunities, and how to identify and pursue those opportunities. Attendees will examine real world small businesses that have prospered, some that have failed and understand why. Marketing, sales, networking and long-term client retention will help attendees build a sustainable business model. The use of artificial intelligence to aggregate market data, accelerate assimilation of data and assist in business plan development will be addressed. Optimizing staffing and outsourcing, time management efficiencies, and scalability are included in the curriculum. This course is offered free, but class size is limited and registration is required. Registrants sign up for the entire 11-session course.

Have you always wanted to make your own greeting cards? Want to learn more techniques for rubber stamping and paper crafting? Join Chris Smith for an extraordinary card making class! At each class, you will create three cards that focus on a variety of techniques from coloring, generational stamping, die cutting, embossing and more! These classes will provide you with a variety of elements to get your creativity inspired. There are plenty of options for individual creativity and sentiment choices. No experience is necessary - you will receive all the support and inspiration needed to make beautiful cards! All supplies are provided. Registration is required for each class.
